Windows Vista Has Proven its Security Stenght
Windows Vista was promised to be more secure than its predecessor Windows XP and one year after its manufacturing release, Windows Vista only has 14 critical and important bulletins compared to 41 issued for Windows XP.
Jim Allchin who led Windows Vista development and launch said patches in Windows Vista is going to go down drastically (found here):
In my opinion, it's the most secure system that's available and the most secure system we have shipped," he said. This means the number and severity of security updates Microsoft must release every month on Patch Tuesday, the name security researchers have given for when Microsoft releases its monthly security patches, should be reduced, Allchin said.
Microsoft Security Development Lifecycle should be feeling proud right now as they have clearly achieved their goal making users feel secure while using Windows Vista.
Maybe Apple should have pirated any of the guys at Microsoft Security before they released Leopard which has scored pretty well in the low end of security markers.
