SharePoint 2010 SocialFest Competition

SharePoint 2010 Social Fest
The rest of the application developed are the following:
1. Calinda MindUP – presents email interactions into visual maps which help create conversations between groups enhancing collaboration.
2. Confer - is simply twitter on SharePoint 2010 for both internal and external employees.
3. Cortex Intelligence - is an intelligent RSS tools which is presented via webparts fpr discussion, sharing, etc.
4. Leverage Software - makes your email thread into on-deman social workspace for sharing with others.
5. Liaise - reads through your email messages and organizes them into structured KeyPoints (actions/issues, due dates, people and priorities) and updates SharePoint portal Task/Issue Lists, Discussion Boards, Site Calendars and Documents.
6. Loqu8 Prelude - integrates lists and search results into a pop-up window which is contextual from applications, such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.. Through mouse over, a pop-up window will display contextually relevant information from SharePoint.
Key Takeaway
The applications seem interesting, with the exception of Liaise, I don't think any of these would see enterprise scale implementation due to security and governance issues. Given that SharePoint is a heavyweight on large scale enterprise implementations, social applications should address security and governance on its design.
Liaise is a good productivity tool as long as it does its work correctly and I see this as an application that have the least amount of security and governance issue. Having said that, Liaise could see full blown implementation on the enterprise.
