SharePoint 2007 SP2
Microsoft is releasing SharePoint 2007 Service Pack 2 (SharePoint SP2). Improvements are going to be made in the user experience which includes its enterprise content management features, stsadm commands for repairing links between sources and target pages, read-only content databases, and rebuilding or timer jobs.
If they are going to make improvements in the stsadm, why don’t they make it user interface based? Seriously, I don’t think that’s going to happen as so many features of stsadm works even if the site is not loading or breaking. I am however thrilled with the rebuild of timer jobs. I have had so many pains in building complex timer jobs and one particular area I think they should improve are on timer jobs debugging.
Microsoft is not putting a final date for the release of SharePoint SP2; but it is believed to be around April of 2009.
