Microsoft, Verizon and Dell
Microsoft launched Windows almost three decades ago with business force and strategy inking deals with IBM to load their operating system. Given that Microsoft has not matched the technology of Google search, they have resorted in strong business alliances to keep the Microsoft search from falling behind.
Dell has agreed to make Microsoft search as it’s default search engine and the new PCs to be released starting next month would already be configured for Microsoft search on most likely Windows Vista installed hardware. The same is true with Verizon who has agreed to make Microsoft search their default mobile search engine.
These moves are small and continuous actions done by Microsoft after failing to acquire Yahoo that could have greatly improved their search engine technology and ranking. This is what Microsoft does best, building an economy among alliance and partners similar to their OEM business model on Microsoft products.
