I have Finally Given in to a Netbook, Lenovo IdeaPad S10
I have written about the reasons why sales of netbooks is going to reach 41 million in 2012. In my last statement:
11. I am from the middle class, a practical person, wants to be mobile while achieving productivity. In other words, I am like everyone else and I love netbooks. So is the story of the 41 million projected netbooks sale.
Given my belief and excitement of buying a small, cheap but productive device; I decided I could no longer wait in the sidelines and thus, just 48 hours ago I bought my first netbook—Lenovo IdeaPad S10.
I went to one of our local shopping centers here in the Philippines—Greenhills Viramall where I got a very good deal buying myself a Lenovo S10 netbook with an upgraded memory of 2GB for only P26,000 ($540.54 USD @ 48.10 exchange rate) Philippine pesos. Before I bought, I went to around 20-30 vendors and most of the shops sold theirs for P27, 595 ($573.70 USD) with only 1GB of RAM memory. To ugprade to 2GB, the final total cost of Lenovo S10 would be P29,495 ($613.20 USD). I am happy getting mine cheaper by P3,494.95 ($72.66 USD) less which I am going to use to buy myself a new computer bag fitted for the 10.1” inch netbook, and probably a cooling pad and mouse.
Below are the Lenovo IdeaPad S10 pictures:
Here I am posing with my newly bought Lenovo IdeaPad S10. Yah I know, I look tired already. It’s Christmas season and for the last two days, I went shopping and food tripping with my girl friend and her family. But that didn’t stop me to scratch the itch off and buy my first netbook.

Lenovo IdeaPad S10 pouch. The Lenovo IdeaPad S10 had two pouch designs available. The image above is the bigger pouch for the S10 but I prefer the smaller sleeve which is a perfect fit for the S10; unfortunately, they only had a pink colored S10 sleeve.
Lenovo IdeaPad S10 side cartons. One side contains the sticker for barcode asset inventory, while the other side has the Intel Atom inside logo.

I haven’t explored the laptop yet as I went for a picnic at Tagaytay the morning I bought S10. Nonetheless, It is pre-installed with Windows XP Service Pack 3 Home Edition. I know I have no use for the Home edition and I am looking to upgrade it to Professional edition. I am also contemplating on installing Windows Vista or even Windows 7 on it. As I use my first netbook, I’ll continue posting on the Lenovo IdeaPad S10 here.
