This is a how to guide for installing Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 RC2 on Windows Vista Enterprise Edition:

Once you have the installer of Virtual Server 2005, go and find setup executable and right click on the file and choose Run as Administrator. There are a number of problems that can be encountered when administrative rights for applications is not elevated; for our installation, we would want to be on the safe side.

Click install Microsoft Virtual Server 2005.

Accept terms of agreement and click on next.

Type user name, organization.

Type product key. Click on next.

Choose complete and click next ( You may also want to customize installation and directory path).

Accept the default port given which is often port 80 and click next.

You are now ready to install Virtual Server, click on Install.

You can now see the progress bar of installation.

Setup is now complete.

The summary of the installation is now displayed. The link below the Administration Website section should bring you to the administration page where you can create and run your virtual machines.
