How to Guide: Configure the Windows Vista Power Button to Shut down instead of Sleep Mode Using Command Scripts
Currently, the Windows Vista Power button would go into sleep mode when pushed. I like this default mode; but nonetheless, you can configure it to shut down you Windows Vista computer. Following are the steps:
1. Click on Start menu
2. Type "cmd" in the Windows Vista search input box
3. Click on "cmd" with "Run as administrator" privilege (see image below)
4. Type "powercfg.cpl,1"
