The latest version of SPDisposeCheck has been released version 1.3.1 and early reports by my friend indicate it has caught potential issues right away.

The product description is as follows:

SPDisposeCheck is a tool to help you to check your assemblies that use the SharePoint API so that you can build better code. It provides assistance in correctly disposing of certain SharePoint objects to help you follow published best practice. This tool may not show all memory leaks in your code. Further investigation is advised if you continue to experience issues.

SPDisposeCheck.exe takes the path to a managed .DLL or .EXE or the path to a directory containing many managed assemblies. It will recursively search for and analyze each managed module attempting to detect coding patterns based on the MDSN article.

NT Media, LA based company, has launched Neutrotrash.tv which is a video sharing site. From the initial design, it looks like YouTube 1.0.

The company says they have already have around 2,000 videos and their main focus is on “prosumer” videos.

I don’t think that would be any different from a channel from Youtube; but eventually, it would be a strong niche for companies using online video for profit.

WSJ has written about a history of mistakes Microsoft has done which led to the rise of Google.

In an excerpt:

Could you imagine investors now threatening to file a lawsuit on Apple for Steve Job’s illness on the argument that the company should have notified them earlier to prepare them for a succession plan.

The mere announcement of Steve Job’s medical leave already dropped the company’s share price by 10 percent and a lawsuit announcement against their own is simply dumb and would likely put them in a worse situation than their 10 percent drop.

The sharks are out and it is within Apple’s premises. Give the guy a break, and give Tim Cook some breathing room. They need it at this time.

Steve Jobs has taken a medical leave until July and COO Tim Cook would take the reigns for the meantime. Steve told his employees that his health issues was more complex than he thought.

As a person, it is really sad to see someone get sick and taking a medical leave of absence tells you how serious it could be.

While I am not a fan of Apple, Microsoft wouldn’t be as interesting for reporters without Apple. Steve Jobs without Apple is unthinkable. At least, Bill Gates was able to prepare before stepping down.

Nonetheless, all Techticles want is for Steve Jobs’ speedy and full recovery.
