I cannot understand how Starry Dynamo came up with a conclusion that SharePoint is only respected because of its File Management capabilities as she has written in this post.

All of the project engagements I have worked on SharePoint required complex usage of the tool extending it to fit large enterprise requirements.

Bill Gates demoed Microsoft Touchwall during the Microsoft CEO Summit. This is similar to Microsoft Surface and Bill Gates says they are working on making different kinds of surfaces including horizontal and vertical to have interactive capabilities and a software that powers it.

In this demo he clearly shows a new experience of doing presentations other than the standard powerpoint slides. I am sure at least 1 of the 115 CEOs who attended the summit might test drive this technology within the year especially when it gives more engaging talk in front of shareholders.

The SharePoint Learning Kit was released a few months back via CodePlex and is an e-learning delivery and tracking application built in WSS 3.0.

Microsoft has released a couple of weeks ago the SharePoint Administration Toolkit which gives the ability to perform bulk operations on site collections and update alert emails whenever web apps change URLs.

WSS is a great starter SharePoint component you can use for information and documents management as well as a team collaboration tool.

Galdon released GFX 3.0 which is their latest fax archiving and billing solutionf for RightFax—Fax server product.

The predecessor of GFX 3.0 is version 2.7 for Windows SharePoint Services 2.0. The older version shall be supported for customers who have not yet upgraded to the latest version of SharePoint.

GFX is a great product that allows management of fax documents for both inbound and outbound. These documents are then archived and posted in SharePoint.
