Microsoft Surface Computer

Microsoft’s new surface computer brings up memories of the movie Minority Report (2002) where Tom Cruise used a computer pinned to the wall to look up locations of future criminals.

I’m glad the technology has now reached the consumer market and there’s no better company to inject this in the living room, board room, classrooms, etc. than Microsoft. They are very good in making consumers buy this product no matter what.

I hope they come up with a remote control attached to fingertips to make the experience better.

Linus and Open Source Need to Stop Speculating and Start Re-thinking their Open Source Model

Microsoft is going after Linux with a series of patent violations which Microsoft apparently own. Linus Torvalds, creator of Linux has this to say: Linus goes on to say that “it’s certainly a lot more likely that Microsoft violates patents than Linux does.” Linus says that if the source code for Windows was reviewed in the same way that Linux has, Microsoft would also be facing patent violations.

The different versions of Windows Vista that is commonly publicized and compared upon are Windows Vista Basic, Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Vista Business and Windows Vista Ultimate. Fortunately there is another version of Windows Vista called the Enterprise edition which is a super set of Windows Vista Business aimed for developers, IT managers, architects and IT decision makers.

Both are Serious but Microsoft is not Going to Buy Yahoo

Microsoft is not going to buy Yahoo but reports indicating that the two giants are in talks of a possible buyout is not an act to generate buzz among themselves; but a legitimate win it all vision for both of them. Microsoft is behind Google and their barrage of online services from MSN to Live have not closed the gap between these two companies; buying an established company like Yahoo should be no brainer as it could instantly keep them within striking distance of Google.

The buyout is not going to happen
